Fall Camp Out - Lake Mineral Wells State Park

Another wonderful club event.  The weather was perfect and everyone had a great time!
Our youngest camper Emory eating breakfast before our morning hike.

Dani taking a photo of an ant colony we found along the trail.

 Ava finds a shell.

Everett was intrigued with all the lichen on the rocks.
 Emory hiked his shoe off!
Taking a much needed water and snack break.

 Where's Zoe?
Finally, a jar for collecting dirt.
After cracking open their geodes, the kids brushed them clean to reveal beautiful crystals inside.  Like geodes we are all different in size and shape, yet we each have beauty within us.

There was even enough time for school.  Seen here, "Miss Draggerson" (aka Zoe), irritated with one of her students (mom Deona) for not paying close attention. :)
Burn bans = roasting marshmallows over sterno stoves.  Though a little difficult to find, ethanol (versus methanol) fuel is a safe alternative for roasting marshmallows.
Woo! A brisk morning and a funny hat makes for one happy camper!

Sunday morning we discovered a critter visited our campsite.
 Group Hug!
